Building High-Performance Teams

The Mindful Warrior Team Citizenship Training Program is governed by two simple principles:

  1. 1)teams function as interdependent living systems, and

  2. 2)extraordinary performances and authentic leadership can only emerge in healthy, values-driven team cultures.

Team sports teach leadership because they teach citizenship--which is all about learning how to participate whole-heartedly in things one does not govern, in the company of people one did not choose.  Authentic leaders begin their journey by mastering--rather than skipping over--the challenges of citizenship.

Our program draws on cutting-edge research in systems theory which indicates that when people feel that they belong to something bigger than themselves--to a culture in which the right things are made explicit and important--they will work harder, compete with greater confidence, and demonstrate fierce resilience in the face of adversity.

The Mindful Warrior Team Citizenship Program enables teams to determine their core values, develop mission statements, uphold covenants, cultivate emotional intelligence, master effective communication and interpersonal skills, and implement conflict resolution protocols.

TEAM CITIZENSHIP TRAINING

“The classes and discussion were more than just informative and practical.  Cornelia’s interaction with the audience is so personal and warm and her information so genuine and useful that my colleagues and I all wanted to begin applying our new found ideas right away.”

“All life is inter-related...Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.  I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be.”

-The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.

As Yale’s President Levin described leadership in his Freshman Convocation speech, Cornelia brings out the best in others.  She has an incredible, natural gift for empowering students.  She is also a highly organized person who knows how to get a team to work effectively with each other.
