Summary of Services Provided:
Overview
After being hired by Head Coach Kim Simons to work with the team during its post-season campaign, I was hired by Ricky Fried, Kim’s assistant and successor following her retirement, to work with the team over the full course of the following season.
Pre-Season
I introduced practices that promoted team trust, integrity, and safety; conducted initiations that enhanced team confidence and camaraderie; and introduced athletes to mindfulness practices.
Regular Season
To the foundation laid in the pre-season, I incrementally added holistic mental health education, guided visualization techniques, and mindful-citizenship practices. A comprehensive dynamics analysis--employing Angeles Arrien’s four archetypes (warrior, healer, teacher, and visionary)--helped the team enhance its collective self-knowledge and confidence.
Post-Season
During my second post-season campaign with the team, I introduced body-centered psychotherapy sessions to answer and mitigate performance concerns. I worked closely with the coaching staff to enhance their decision-making and communication. Prior to contests, I conducted team-wide guided visualizations and muscle relaxation sessions.
