Cornelia’s presentation taught me about the idea of always being present in a practice or game.  That was really helpful to me.  A process goal I could hope to achieve is to play a whole game entirely in the present.  I learned a lot in her presentation and will take many lessons forward.  Thanks!

Cornelia’s presentation gave me lots of good ideas for how to bring my team together and lead them in a good and strong way.  I love the ideas in Buddhist Psychology that were presented.  I also liked the idea of living in the present as that is something very hard for me to do.  I really enjoyed and appreciated this program for team captains and coaches.  It gave me a great new outlook on leadership and how to handle a team.  I’m very glad we had this opportunity.

I thought Cornelia’s suggestion for a positive team initiation was great.  The advice about how to talk to players using the terms “with/and” instead of “but” and her explanations about how to build team trust and how important it is was very helpful.  I thought the whole program for captains and coaches at L-S was very helpful and interesting and it gave me a whole new outlook!

The portion of the presentation on the ego really helped me realize parts of myself that inhibit my leadership skills and are drawbacks to  my effectiveness as a leader.  Thank you so much for your presentation!  It undoubtedly helped all of us and I believe that the leadership at LSRHS will improve greatly.

The Mindful Warrior presentation taught me how not to judge and it helped me to understand how to be more mindful.

Cornelia’s presentation further developed my understanding of servant leadership; it taught me about flow states; and it reworked my understanding of ‘the ego.’

The Mindful Warrior Training Program for Captains and Coaches taught me about how important it is to personally know the person you are passing to on the field.  If you trust your teammate off the field there won’t be any hesitations on the field.  I also learned about trying always to see the positive side of a teammate: that you have to find that one thing that you enjoy about a person, ignore the downsides, and learn to bring out the best in your teammates.  I also liked the way Cornelia taught us about the importance of living in the present moment--and that when you walk onto the field on any given day, you have to actually walk onto the field and be present.  There’s a difference between walking on when you’re not really present and truly walking onto the field.  The whole program was really moving and I found certain phrases and lessons more than helpful.  Thank you!

The Mindful Warrior Training Program for Captains and Coaches helped me become aware of my own personal ego issues.  I also became aware of the position that a leader takes and the responsibility it requires.  I found myself already becoming aware of my own ego acting during the presentation and was able to laugh at myself.  Cornelia gave a great presentation, it was very enlightening.  It opened my eyes and it will greatly influence my mental mind-set towards my athletes and social life.
