Cornelia Holden is the CEO and Founder of Mindful Warrior, an innovative company in the field of team building, performance enhancement, and leadership development. She graduated summa cum laude from Bowdoin College where she was a NCAA Division II giant slalom ski racing champion and a member of both the varsity tennis and crew teams. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. In addition to her work as the sports psychology consultant for the U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey Team from 2006 through the 2010 Winter Olympics, Cornelia’s institutional clients have included Georgetown University, Yale University, Middlebury College, and the Navajo Nation. Still an avid skier and outdoorswoman, Cornelia lives at The Hotchkiss School where she is implementing the Mindful Warrior curriculum, designing a summer leadership program for high-school students with an emphasis on peace and conflict transformation, and serving as an Assistant Dean of Admission. Jenny Potter has played in four Olympics, eight IIHF World Women’s Championships, and seven Four Nations Cups. She has four Olympic medals (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010), plus three world titles (2005, 2008, 2009) and three Four Nations Cup championships (1997, 2003 & 2008) to her credit. Potter led the US Team at the 2006 Olympics with nine points (2-7) and was named the top forward in the world in 1999. At the 2010 Olympics, she set a U.S. Olympic single-game record with five points (3-2) and also became the United States’ all-time Olympic career points leader (11-19). She played three years at the University of Minnesota Duluth after transferring from the University of Minnesota, both of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. A three-time Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist, she was a four-time All-American, two-time WCHA Player of the Year and won the national title as a junior in 2003. Rob Potter is best known for his extensive experience developing elite athletes. He has trained more than 600 female and male athletes from the US, Europe, and Canada who have advanced to Division I and III, Juniors, NHL, and Olympic teams. Using his innovative techniques and strategies, Rob understands what works best with elite athletes and prepares them to handle the unique emotional, mental, and physical stress of high-performance sports. A turnaround specialist, Rob has improved the performance of many teams including the San Jose Sharks, Kansas City Blades, Rochester Mustangs, Danville Wings, as well as St. Thomas Academy, Burnsville, Cretin-Derham Hall, and Benilde-St. Margaret’s High Schools. He is currently the head girls hockey coach at Coon Rapids High School, the 2006 Class AA State runner-up. Many of the players who trained with Pure Hockey (www.potterspurehockey.com) were on the USA silver medal team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Aleca Hughes is a junior at Yale University where she plays forward on the varsity ice hockey team. An American Studies major, she finished second on the team this year in both points (17) and goals (9). She has played in every game in her first two years, and has the second-highest goal total on the team over that period. Aleca recently won the 2010 Bulldog Award for team spirit. Prior to Yale, Aleca played for four years on the Connecticut Stars, earning two bronze medals and one silver at nationals. At the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT she captained both the varsity ice hockey and varsity field hockey teams during her senior year. She earned spots on the All-Founder’s League teams and the All-New England Division I team in 2007-2008. An all-around athlete, she also played on the varsity lacrosse, softball, and track teams at Hotchkiss. A hard-working and dedicated student-athlete, Aleca is a gifted mentor and role model. She is a tremendous asset to the girls who participate in our academy and makes an invaluable contribution to our leadership team.

Bray Ketchum is a senior at Yale University where she plays forward on the varsity ice hockey team. A 2009-2010 Patty Kazmaier Award nominee, she was selected to the ECAC Hockey All-Star team and was selected to play in an exhibition game against Team USA. Selected to the second team All-Ivy, Bray led Yale in goals (12), power-play goals (5) and points (23) and tied for team lead in assists (11). In 2010 she won the prestigious Yale Coaches Award. Prior to her tenure at Yale, Bray was the 2006-07 Boston Globe NEPSAC Women’s Athlete of the Year and the New England Prep School Div. II Player of the Year. As a student at Greenwich Academy, she captained her ice hockey team to its third straight Division II championship and won school awards for top athlete and for performance, team spirit, and sportsmanship. A true team player and gifted athlete, Bray brings warmth, organization, and spirit to our academy. She is an excellent role model for the girls who attend our camp and an invaluable member of our leadership team.

Kevin Hicks is the Associate Head of School and Dean of Faculty at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT, a top-tier New England boarding school. Prior to Hotchkiss, Kevin served for five years as Dean of Berkeley College, one of Yale University’s twelve undergraduate colleges, where he was the chief academic advisor for 430 Yale undergraduates. A 1989 Yale graduate (Pierson College), Kevin received his Ph.D. in nineteenth-century American literature from Princeton University. He has been working in education—as a teacher, coach, and administrator—at both secondary schools and colleges since 1990. Just before returning to Yale, he taught English at Boston University and coached women’s lacrosse at Brown. Kevin is an avid cyclist, runner, and skier, and an enthusiastic participant in intramural squash and golf. He is married to Cornelia Holden and together they serve as dorm faculty at Hotchkiss.

World-class paddler and adventure racer, Billy Mattison has won the Eco-Challenge and numerous white water kayak races. His team placed 3rd in the Adventure Racing and Discovery Channel World Championships and Subaru Gorge Games, he won the Discovery Channel Appalachian Extreme and serves as race director for the TEVA Mountain Games. As co-owner and head boatman of Timberline Tours International Whitewater, his river skills and leadership are legendary in paddling circles with a whitewater career spanning 30 years. During the winter season, Billy works as the Assistant Director of the Vail Ski Patrol. He is an accomplished mountaineer and loves spending his free time touring the backcountry, skiing a 14,000 ft peak or leading an ice ascent in Vail. He averages 40 days annually above 12,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies and has climbed several mountains up to 20,000 feet around the world. He exemplifies a model adventure-racing competitor with his unwavering determination, inherent mental strength and inspiring enthusiasm for outdoor adventure. Billy (52) lives in Vail CO, with his wife Hélène and twins Liam and Scout (7).
